Ships Log
 |
At Tugboat Alley, we have had the pleasure of meeting tugboat
personnel from all over the country. Tug Captains, Engineers,
Deck hands and Pilots are frequent visitors and customers.
We'd like to share with you some of their experiences,
through interviews and photos. |

Ships Log Index |
Volume 1: Our first Ship's Log is a visit with Shirley
Holt, the President of Portsmouth, NH Pilots Association.
Shirley and his brother operate the Moran Tugboats, the
renowned red and black working tugboats, that bring ships
up and down the Piscataqua River.
Volume 2: During the Summer
of 1999, we participated in the 15th annual Tugboat Muster
and Parade in Boston Harbor. It was a day to enjoy these
giant workboats complete with a parade, contests, and
festivities.
Volume 3: Our Winter 2000
trip to the Caribbean included tour of a bustling port
city, the Port of Barbados, West Indies, aboard the "Pelican
II", one of two tugboats the port operates.
Volume 4: We sponsored "Theodore
Too"s special two-day visit to Portsmouth in the Summer
of 2001. The life-size replica is based on the award-winning
children's television series Theodore Tugboat.
Volume 5: Enjoy a Winter
2001 slide show of tugs that we have had the pleasure
of boarding and visiting, or from photos that their owners
and captains have shared with us.
Volume 6: Meet "Tug Alley
Too", the Summer 2002 addition to our retail shop, Tugboat
Alley, and online business, The Tugboat Store. "Tug Alley
Too" is available for charter tours of the Piscataqua
River for up to 6 people.
Volume 7: While on our Winter
2003 get-away, we spotted the "Lone Ranger", a former
German working tugboat turned private, pleasure motor
yacht, the ultimate fantasy for the tug enthusiast! |
